can anyone give me some information on this? i have read some older posts that had links but not very helpful - one site all in turkish and the other appears that i can only book alanya to girne but not the other way? i read that the hydrodfoils run on monday and thursday only from girne to alanya, but not sure how old this was. my fiance and myself will be staying in catalkoy next month for 10 days and we want to visit alanya just for a day trip so if anyone can point us in the right direction it'd be appreciated. lee.

Your best bet would be to book through a travel agent here in Girne, Ankara Travel speak very good English (0392 8155668), as they'll be able to explain everything to you.

I'm sure you still have to pay the £10 Turkish visa each on arrival even for just a day.

Sorry about posting that twice. They're about halfway between Rocks Hotel and Dome Hotel, 10 yards up a little side street - well signed.

I think you will need to stay overnight as the hydrofoil goes and then does a straight turnaround and comes back within a couple of hours.

We have just returned from Alanya.

No Hydrofoil just a bulk standard Catameran Akgunler have a booking office at tha new harbour. They run two boats one large Cat' and a small cat' the trip in the small cat on a good day is about 4-5 hrs. Don't forget your seasick pills before you depart

I hope this helps

Cass
