thank you roisin,

the festival dates are probably between 14th - 18th Sept. I'll try to get definite dates and will publish programme in this forum.

if we can manage to add carob picking event to the festival programme, may be we can develop a touristic product in the long therm. Carob picking is an ordinary work for villagers but it may be different activity for those who has never done it. "Difference attracts people" is the main slogan for tourism.

You needn't to work as hard as villagers, just come and join us, pick some carobs yourself, take pictures or videos while picking them with villagers, eat your sandwich under a carob tree.

seeing our new neighbours or tourists working together with them will be a new social event for locals on the other hand.

the festival dates are announced as 14th-18th September. There'll be sports tournaments ( five-a-side football, beach wrestling, judo, bicycle race, swimming, sea kayak, etc, music and dance nights, miss carob, singing competition etc., food and souvenir stalls and many more at Tatlısu carob festival.

still I don't know whether the mayor will put carob picking event to the festival programme or not. He is still waiting to see how much interest will be on this event.

The municipality will also rent stalls @ the festival area.

come on guys, there should be some more people to attend this event.

may be we can arrange a tractor for transportation to and from the carob field.

All we need to do this event is just your participation. 6-10 people may be enough to start and add this event to the festival programme.

yudu392.

If it helps I will put this info on our complex private forum for you.

However could I suggest that you pop a poster up in the offices of both Sweetwater and Sea Terra bay apartment complexes.

Also a poster in Tatlisu village would attract a few apartment owners who would love to participate.

Hope this helps !!

hodgeliz the post was to try and encourage all to attend, the posters would possibly help if it was in English.
