Apologies if you have had this one already but I have missed it if it is somewhere obvious. My partner and I have booked a self-catering villa near Kyrenia next month for ten days and were looking for some ideas on how much cash we should bring. I know that this question has already been answered for people looking to move to Cyprus but it would be a massive help if we could get an idea on costs considering that we will be mixing living with eating out and pleasure activities. At the moment we are budgeting around Ytl4000 including transfers from Larnaca and car hire. What do you think????

We did £50 a day last year but not including car( £19/day all in with Bird ) and fuel and that was eating out most nights or lunchtimes. Plan to do the same this year - but a lot depends on the lifestyle you require !! Hope this helps.

I have done the sums and with the current exchange rate it will be nearer £40 per day as you are getting 20% more for you money than last year.

Approx figures only / fairly frugal (sensible): Transfers - allow £80 Car Hire (10 days) - £190 Petrol - £40 Day to day Supermarket Food / Sundries - £130 Evening Out Meals plus drinks / occasional lunch out - £500 Total: £840 (minimum) so a round £1000 for good measure. Can't predict exchange rate but just bring out your spending money in cash sterling and exchange when here for better than UK rates (and you can survive the first day on sterling as accepted almost everywhere / car hire and transfers can be paid in sterling too). This figure I think is the bare minimum - your current budget of approx £1200-£1400 punds (based on likely rates) should be more than enough to have a great time. Hope this helps
