Hello again i posted a while back regarding our holiday we arrive 31 august. I was wondering if there were any bars /restaurants in walking distance of our villa but did not have villa address so nobody could really help. I now have address as follows Mimoza Sokak,Kazim Ozalp 3 Cadde Alsancak. I hope this helps and someone can advise if there are any bars/restaurants nearby for our first night. Many Thanks

The poster asked a genuine question and has the right to receive a proper response.

There are a few bars in Alsancak and nearby Lapta.

Bill57 - ironically, if you could name a bar/restaurant in the area, then I feel sure more people could suggest other bars/restaurant, etc. nearby. I know that defeats the issue somewhat!

Not much help, I know, but I know the area reasonably well and I couldn't tell you the names of many of the roads, etc.

Good luck

PS I'm sure a lot of people will be far more familiar than I am with road names.

This is where the road is ( see Red marker)

It's directly opposite the peace and freedom museum set back about 400m from the main road. If that helps anyone suggest places to go

You couldn't find a more isolated place for local bars if you tried!

How about Santoria Village? It has just reopened this season. I think it is on the white road to the right of the red blob just before the junction.

Hi Bill

I think Mimoza Sokak is just off the main road through Alsancak. You turn left at the Post Office and it's about 400yds up on the right. If you're on foot I think you'll be quite limited as I think the only restaurants where most brits will feel comfortable in Alsancak are Fast Food, Dolphin and Cenap. All good ones though. They are all close to the car park in the town centre. Also, depends how far you want to walk?

Good luck

Bill, go down to the main road, turn left and walk along until you reach Bare Hill on Left and St Tropez restaurant on the right hand side. See the map in post no 7

It's not cheap but it does have a good reputation with some.

There is an upstairs grill which is slightly less expensive.

Bill if you find the St Tropez doesn't fit the bill then walk on and there are quite a few restaurants around the Denizkısı Hotel area serving more traditional Cypriot/Turkish food and other European menu choices too.

Don't know exactly your location? If you are in Alsancak you won't have far to go to find a pub
