Today after doing some gardening, i needed to spray some weedkiller (knockout) So i put the measured dose into the container, and then went to the kitchen sink to put the water in...only on the way the container leaked and weedkiller went all over the tiles. So, I washed it all off and went about my jobs.

Well, unfortunately, the weedkiller has turned the shiny floor tiles white and dull...and it wont come off....!!

Please, any help or advise on what to do would be gratefully received as to replace these tiles will be seriously out of my depth...

Hi DD.....try plenty of fresh water to nutralise(not a bucket full-more like a sopping wet cloth) and keep doing this over a couple of hours.follow with a conditioner for floors or even your hair conditioner bit do be extra carefull not to step on it or you will do yourself a serious injury.have a bit of patience .its just the acid in the weed killer that has dulled the surface.

D.D. Are the ceramic tiles glazed or unglazed ?

We used to clean Stubborn marks off floor tiles with Spirit of Salts. Only available in the UK frpm a pharmacy, however I brought some last week from Bektas Supermarket.

But this is an acid !

Conditioner for floors is agood idea,

Or on unglazed ceramics we use to use a little linseed oil. Or any type of clean oil. Rubbed well in.

But has rosylee says be careful at first (slippy) Also try not to get whatever you use on the grout lines. Because the grout is porous and will discolour.

I believe they are glazed because they are quite shiny...so conditioner seems to be the way to go...
