The type for the Cyprus Today is standard. All newspapers have their preferred font. There is a minor problem with the press at the moment, hence some of the sentences are stretched. This problem is being worked on and it is only affecting the first 100 or so papers in the run. If this is causing you concern, apologies, but it really does not detract from the story. Thank you for pointing this out.

Ha ha. Redhead, wife of the former Cyprus Star editor, with a vindictive streak both. I see the Cyprus Sun was a fantastic success. Such a shame I and most people never got to see a copy. I heard it was more awful than he managed to make the Cyprus Star.

Anthony, you could have read it on the shelves! And it seems that the promised issue No.2 is not out, but that is probably due to the serious illness in the Hudson family. Never like to hear of illness in anyone's life, and equally I never like to see vindictiveness .... but time heals all, doesn't it. Normal life goes on. I am happy to be associated with The Cyprus Star and its new editor and it is endeavouring to provide news and views that people want. If it hasn't got it, then tell us, and I am sure the Editor will try to make it something you want to read. Incidentally, as I have mentioned elsewhere - for UB40 fans, Brian Hardie had an exclusive interview which will be in this week;'s Cyprus Star. Take a look on the shelves before you part with your 2tl or buy one atr Lamboussa for 1tl. Would hate to see anyone disappointed!

Osman Kalfaoglu - used to be with Cyprus Today and was offered genuine congratulations from Mark when he moved over. He is a good guy (I reckon - but I could be biased) and I think he will be good for the newspaper. So as they say 'watch this space.' (For some reason he is not listed in this week;s paper - but been there for about two weeks now (or is it three!)

Marion; What is it with you and 'reading off the shelf'? If we all did that you wouldn't get paid. Didn't you and Brian Hardie once work on Zoom? how successful was that?

Ah Newscoop, haven't you fathomed that I am a 'tightwadder'. I had no intention of buying the new Sun but I was curious to see what it was like. I got told off my someone cos I told them to take a look and they bought it!¬ You ask about Zoom (or rather the English Zoom In), yes, Brian Hardie and are were invol, ved. Long story. Magazine is still around but the new editor is Nick Hudson who disposed of my services! Brian on the other hand (together with his wife) was helping out and had other fish to fry. Both of us are still there if help is needed. But it wasn't employment! Zoom and Zoom In is still on the shelves. Why not buy one! Oh and by the way, I often bought my own as it was not worth going all the way to Lefkosia to get a freebie. so I guess I was contributing to the pay of others!

Strange that because I seem to remember that Mr Hardie was named as 'editor in chief' in the edition where you and he were pictured at BRT.

Well to round it off, for the fans of Cyprus Today who have picked up on the front problem which seems to have been running for a while, can you tell CarrierBag as to whether the problem is now fixed. I confess I find it interesting, as in the old days one would say the print Setter had made a mistake, but I don't think we have them any more (or do we?). for me, it doesn't matter too much as the entire stories are still legible, and I don't think I have seen it elsewhere, and yet surely the printers do other publications. anyway, I would be happy to see the answer, and then you can close the thread! and sorry if my interpretation of the swear words were innocent - I just don't understand what some people mean!

Cyprus Today is printed on the premises. As to whether it is fixed or not, I cannot say. Obviously machines go wrong and even though they are fixed, they can go wrong again. As long as it does not detract from the story or the reading of the story I do not see why it is a topic of conversation. There are many much more important stories around at the moment without having to discuss, at length, the ins and outs of Cyprus Today's printing presses. Put this one to bed.

Agreed! But one has to recognise that some people are more curious than others. ?And some people take more interest in some things than others. Remember the Cyprus Times - why was everything in tirplicate? No one answered that, but it was an interesting mystery! Virtually all publications made mistakes because this is Cyprus . But rejoice CarrieRBag - it has got people talking about CT, so that is good, isn't it???

Curiosity is a good thing and the question was answered early on, to the satisfaction of the poster. As you say, all publications make mistakes, no-one is infallible, so onwards and upwards.

Indeed. sometimes the struggle to climb is a bit overwhelming, but we can do it - can't we? sio, I guess it is time for this to be closed and stop taking up space on the forum! But it is not too OTT to be scrubbed off quickly! Go well, !
