"Open Mic Night": another fine evening at The Black Olive in Alsancak with the debut of Ingrid Lindh who sang this great song "Take the ribbon from your hair"!

P.S. Photobook will be uploaded later.

Wouldn't the 'alternative version' be more fun???

'Take the ribbon from your hair,

Shake it loose and let it fall,

You can stack ya wooden leg,

In that cupboard by the wall.

Though your teeth are black and gone,

And your breath - it smells like sh1te,

I'll clamp a clothes-peg on me nose,

To help me make it through the night!'

There was a thread on here not so long ago about how people should dress when going out in the evening, good to see that the guitarist has made the effort. Looks like he's been out all day and stepped in at the last minute. The singer looks lovely.

▶ We heard "Nick the Greek" play the guitar and before we've enjoyed him at the drums. The fashion show was somewhere else.

Can't see what difference the 'fashion' makes Open Mic - it's about the musical sound, which was very good I might add, clothing is irrelevant providing it is not offensive.

I've been to 4 of these nights now and always surprised with the different vibe created each week. It's the mix of people of different nationalities, young and old on the stage performing great music together that makes this night so special.

Really good night, well done Black Olive... it just keeps getting better.
