Sorry if this has been answered before but things do change all the time here. I understand I need to go to the Muhtar with the owner of the vehicle to get the paperwork completed. What I need to know is, do we then both have to go to Nicosia to change the name over or is just one of us enough, and do we need to take passports? Thanks.

In theory only the buyer need go to Nicosia But Speaking from bitter past experience it may be best if you both go. Yes on the passports.

When we bought our car privately in May, as the sellers car was in joint names, both of them had to come with us to Nicosia. Take your passports too.

Thanks for the replies. It seems that we don't both have to attend in Nicosia as we would of seen the local Muhtar and received a written change of ownership form. My friend went 3 days ago and had no problems she said, unknown to me at the time of writing this message....................Greeeeeeeeeeeeeh.
