The answer is no. TRNC banks do not have international recognition - branches do not have sort codes. That's why all transfers are routed via Turkey - in and out.

Surely its not a matter of recognition but a matter of special arrangement. I would imagine you cannot deposit a cheque drawn on a Turkish bank or a French bank for that matter with any bank in UK. Money transfers through SWIFT is completely a different kettle of fish. there recognition does come in. So probably if you go to a branch of Turk bank in London, you can deposit a cheque drawn on a TRNC bank but you may have to pay a service charge for it and of course you will have to wait for about a month before you can draw it. ismet

If they write a cheque which bounces and they don't put it right within 21 days after notice. If such happens you get a ban for 12 months from using a cheque book and you must return all your unused cheques. It is a criminal offence if you write a cheque and it bounces. The situation is muddled as far as companies are concerned. ismet
