Ha Ha Kay and Simbas...

That's like saying your favourite tunes are the nursery rhymes you sing...

Try a little harder.... must be something you find amazing? ... hopefully not Jackson Pollock!

I've not seen the 'Hip Hip hooray' before so thanks for that. Great picture, draws you in, feel as if you are walking towards them and can join in the summer party fun.

If you like good quality paintings you should check out The Stumble Inn, every painting in their was painted by my father-in-law,(John Spensley) he also has his stuff at a resteraunt in the mountain but, for the life of me I can't remember the name, he is a fine artist though.

Groucho - just seen your posting. We had that painting in our lounge for many years and had on the opposite wall another by the same artist of a lady sitting under a tree with blossom. I was told that it was the artist's wife? Main reason I liked "Hip Hip ....." was, like yourself, the amazing light.

Velasquez, he painted horses like no-one else. Renoir and everything he did.

We like Jack Vettriano too and have several of his pictures... again we like the light.

Of course he's Scottish too which helps...

The art critics don't like him... I think most of it is sour grapes - he sells well and is still alive...

What I really need in my life.... somebody telling me what to like... I don't think so...

I like people to tell me what they like as it opens doors to new visual and sonic delights... it's not possible for one to visit every gallery or listen to all that music has to offer..

I also like to hear why a particular picture of music means so much to a person as there is often a strong underlying motivator to an attachment...

Weddings are an obvious happy memory (usually) but many other emotions can be evoked by something seen heard or even smelled... That's why perfumes can be so evocative...

Groucho - I am getting a bit worried! Not only did we have Hip Hip ..... for many years in our home (as I told you in an earlier post) but this has been replaced by a number of Jack Vettriano's. Also, when posters were sharing their views about favourite songs, your list was uncannily similar to Mr Wick's! Do you think it could be an age thing? I know it isn't a logistical thing, because we originate from South London.

Also, as a cat lover, I like the unusual cat pictures by Rosina Wachtmeister.
