Eight players either injured or under suspension... it was a very weakened team. He's has 15 years and I don't see this poor form lasting much longer.

Unlike other teams that could be mentioned, Arsenal have been pragmatic with spending money and that policy may just pay off in the end...

Being pragmatic is all very laudable if you don't want to do a Leeds, but sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate. Failing that find yourself a rich sugar daddy.

Groucho, How can you try and say it was a weakened team in these days of professional sport, Wenger has had how many years to get his squad - is it 15!! Wenger also has had all summer to find replacements, who in his right mind wants to go to Arsenal now 3 days left of transfer window. Wenger fell for Southamptons value of another kid- Oxlade- Chamberlain and yesterday he looked a joke, Old Arsene has to buy some proven players and not rely on bringing in youth and playing perfect football. Great to see the Londoners having troubles at start of season, 9 and 8 points behind already 6 of majority. Its a break now, but great to see the southerners slaughter continue after Internationals hahah!!

ARSENAL...............the name on it's oWn is enough.............ELEGANCE |

re 11 Newscoop >>Being pragmatic is all very laudable if you don't want to do a Leeds, << WHAAAT?! Leeds are MY team and they spent money they didn't have when at / near the top ( semi-finals of Champions League) and borrowed it at crazy rates and terms.. Therefore, I don't see your comparison as valid

ang1706 I say weakened because it is... 8 normal first team places not filled by first choice players would weaken any team including Man U. Alex Ferguson admitted as much.

Mark; wasn't that my point? going into hock seriously screwed Leeds. yorgozlu; when you equate Wolwich with elegance I assume you're only taking in the Wenger years? Groucho; Berbatov, Fletcher, Park, Hernandez, Vidic, Ferdinand, were missing or on the bench, Fergie was being patronizing as he no longer sees Wenger as a rival.,

Men against Boys, I'm afraid ! I don't blame Wenger ( a truly great manager ) but the Arsenal board has a lot to answer for in not giving him the money and backing he needs to bring in new players !

Nice to see Arsenal suffer - a relegation battle instead of a champions league spot. No quality in their side at all - no defence - no leader - no chance ! Eaglessss

Mark; the comparison between Arsenal not going into hock And Leeds chasing the money (and glory) is extremely valid. Ridsdale and O'Leary sold the farm and mortgaged the kitchen sink to chase success Wenger has refused to go down that road and if nothing else they are a solvent club, This achievement including the new stadium is down to him and absolutely not the board.

Look forward to seeing the team on the open top bus next year, displaying a positive bank balance....the crowd (all 3 of them) will go wild.

They need to spend some money. The trouble is they don't want to spend 'big' and pay 'big' wages.

Arsenal will climb up the table, but have lost 6 points already to other table top rivals is going to be hard to regain. Spurs on other hand I feel will not climb as steadily as Arsenal and its going to be Harrys biggest test yet, both these clubs have been heavily involved in transfer sagas both buying and selling and only 3 days left. Who would imagine Champions League places next year without Arsenal, Europa League without Spurs - its a reality!! Newsoop, Scottish Fitba had an off night, yes a terrible one and hope that will wake a few people up in Scotia that we are no longer at Fitbas Top Table or even on one of the close legs! The Arabs of Dundee United are a class act just dont win too many games though haha!! I can laugh and not get upset at my Teams demise not cry onto this Forum stating excuses!! Scottish Fitba is on the rise nationally and will see over next couple of years as a lot mor Jocks are now playing in the Premier League- hasten to add... not Spu
