Just to say a big thank you to Paul (Washerman) and to "Pearl" who helped to raise over 5500 lire for charity at Stevies bar last Friday evening. Our thanks also to Emma (what a voice) to Peter"B" and to Steve for making this such a memorable occassion. The audience were just fantastic and as you can see from the amount raised were extremley generous.Monies raised will go to The Kemal Foundation" and the" Esentepe Difibrillator Appeal"

I also want to say a few words about Paul and" Pearl".As you are aware "Paul" gets a lot of abuse on this forum but very few people get to hear about the work he and "Pearl" freely do for charity.Following the event at Stevies bar "Pearl" performed at the "Ishmail" appeal and during the next two weeks are performing on behalf of KAR and have agreed to do two more gigs for "The Kemal Foundation".As you will appreciate this is a demanding schedule but "Pearl" are driven by their commitment to raise money for charity and to-date have raised a considerable su

Have to agree it was a great night and all entertainers were brilliant. Dan's guitar solo was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening.

Ditto to message 3, a fantastic evening and what a spread that Stevie and his staff put on. Pearl were on top form and Mr B doing a couple of numbers with them was also excellent.

Thanks also to Art and Mary for their unstinting efforts to make it such a good evening. (and Paul, the raffle king).

The 'massive' success of the Stevie's bar charity fund-raiser (5,500TL raised for good causes) was due to a number of different factors, but mainly, it was due to the understanding, compassion and generosity of the audience.

At the end of the night, in thanking the audience for their contributions, I said without thinking, "this is what the Brit's are good at and what they do best" and this got the loudest cheer of the night !

Everyone who attended should be proud of what was achieved and feel good about the end result.

The venue's owner got it right - what a fantastic 'all you can eat' buffet for just 25TL per head. Brilliant bar staff, table service with a smile and professional management from Stevie.

The organisers and promoters got it right. Art and Mary visited the venue, made the arrangements with Stevie, advertised and promoted the event and managed the fund raising.

The fund raisers got it right, Paul and Marilyn generated another fantastic result

organising prizes and selling the raffle tickets.

The new 'sing with the band' idea was popular and generated extra donations and has now been added as a regular feature of future fund-raising events.

Daniel's (never-ending) solo generated another bucket-full of loose change as he visited each of the tables and personally serenaded the audience with his guitar riffs.

The auction, the personal donations, the list goes on and on.

Whilst the venue owners, organisers and fund-raisers focus their efforts on raising money for the less fortunate and good causes, it leaves Pearl free to concentrate on making sure that everyone has a good time and enjoys themselves.

This Friday we will be entertaining the audience at the next charity fund-raiser - this time for KAR. See their advert in Satruday's Cyprus Today newspaper - we are expecting a big crowd.

If you want to sing with the band on Friday, call us and tell us what song you would like to sing (120TL donation to KAR) - 0533 861 4873
