Fundraiser at JK's Lapta 09/09/11 to raise money for defibrillators

Tickets will be available from Monday cost 10tl for end of summer ball to raise cash to buy AED's (defibrillators) for Lapta, Alsancak, Karsiyaka and Kaylar.



For your 10tl you have live music by the one and only 'Shy Teds' , canapes, and the chance to win some amazing raffle prizes including £200 worth of fly screens courtesy of Seastone, Quality wines courtesy of Cape Wines, A Raymond Weil genuine watch courtesy of our treasurer Ray Johnstone, Vouchers courtesy of 'The Hut', and many more prizes.



And for the ladies a chance to get dressed in your posh frocks if you so desire!



And more than that you could be investing in something that will save your life if need be!

This afternoon Cyprus 44 member boysie2670 donated a litre bottle of 'Scotch', thanks Steve.



The guys from JK's golf society after a grueling game of golf..........mm......so they tell me........ played killer pool and George who won donated his 55tl winning to the fund to start the ball rolling.

Approx cost of a defibrillator £1000 plus the pads are single use and again approx cost is £36.. This not counting the cost of electricity to keep it fully charged and the man hours to actually check and keep it maintained.



But if it costs 10 times that and saves 1 life a year it is worth it.

Just think people, the average age for a sudden cardiac arrest is 65, so there are a lot in that category, one of these machines can save your life.

nurseawful, wishing you lots of luck with your campaign on the 'west side'. Since this started so many people are now talking about it and becoming aware of the benefits of defibrillators. Others are looking online at which ones are best and sending us links.



Many are discussing CPR and defibrillators, both positive and negative with others enrolling on courses.



The important thing is its raised awareness for many which can only be a good thing. More people thinking about it and talking about it, means more people educating themselves and becoming aware of the importance of CPR and defibrillators.



Well done, continue the good work
