Fantastic - 113 people read the post but nobody walks across the crossing point, I am very impressed with the level of fitness achieved in the North!

Thank's Carol, just proves that people in the South are a lot more helpful than some think. Still busy and out of time at the moment but will get back to you soon.

If I do find a walking route, I will post it.

From Ladra Street crossing point it is due east to the nearest Lidl

http://maps.google.com

enter "LiDL Pallouriotissa Nicosia, B16, Nicosia, Cyprus"

Ledra Crossing point is at "35.173041,33.361337"

It's about 1.5km - slightly longer if you head due south along Ledra Strett thing follow the city walls east...

Niceone,

I also have bought the well wrapped "plastic" extra mature cheese from Lemar, Supreme, Tempo, Erdener, Urulker, Metropol, Akrililla, Carforre, Debs and Hams, M&S, Orphan Annies, etc, etc. The list and the search went on for the past four years - and then........... I happened to wander into Lidl in Larnaca and there on the shelf was some cheepo cheese that is not only Extra Mature but not plastic and crumbles when you cut it. The search for cheese was over and Wallace became happy again.

The down side is that I only bought one bit of it and after a month it has run out, refusing to pay the exorbitant insurance rates to drive in the South, unless I absolutley have to when picking up our visitors, I was looking for a nice day out and a comfortable (not more than 20Km) walk and wander around to see if I could reach Lidl (The temple of doom) and find the cheese chalice at the end of the journey.

Thanks to many m's I will now give it a go in a week or so. Thanks!

I walk the Ledra Palace and Ledra Street crossinga and they a hell of a way from Lidle and wouldn't want to do it myself. However, I haven't been yet but my friends that have tell me that the large Supermarket on the road to Ercan Aurport stocks everything like that, so much so they have stopped spending the 25 Euro on insurance for the car and stock up from this other Supermarket. Can't remember its name, but I'm told you can get all the cheese you want there.
