I am trying to renew my residency but cannot seem to find the Muhtar in Alsancak...does anyone know where he sits now??

he sits in the cafe in the big supermarket in Alsancak................or ask the staff in there......He is just one of them I believe there are a couple of Muktahs..............

Hi there, I got my muchtars note from the Council offices on the main road.



If you go into the payment office on the main road and ask them you might get one, I did. It cost me 10 TL. It seems that the big guy behind the counter is a mutchar or a deputy one.



You need to take all your usual docs for him to see.

To clarify, Orhan, who used to be in Atakara and lives next to Silk Way (formerly the Barrel/ Lacem) a lot is no longer acting as Muhktar, he has been advised by his doctor to rest.

Aziz Cicibaba (deputy) is now respinsible and can sign all residency etc forms.

Easiest place to find him is the office under the Beli offices where you pay your water bills.

Thanks everyone...I did go to the Muhtars house yesterday and they told me to go to the Beli office where you pay the water bills....been there twice and the lady behing the counter just says "he will be here later"...dont know how many times I will have to go back to finally get hold of him!

What about the villa opposite Orhans place.Another Muhtar lives there.He works so go late afternoon.

Mustafa (who lives opposite Orhan) is no longer Muhktar, Aziz is his brother, lives in the Kavanlar house on the corner directly behind Mustafa.

Msg.9. Yes he's the one most people go to now the Orhan is no longer doing his job (Oh how sad is that) You go down the little road opposite what was Lacem and its the first or second house on the left. There will be a whole load of empty water bottles outside because when he's not working at his Muhtar job then he's flogging water. In our experience he doesn't normally get out of bed until after 11am. His Mother or Mother in Law lives next door and will tell you when to "come back"!!
