Hi,

Can anyone advise if Turkish Bank or HSBC have Internet banking facilities, If not what banks do?

Also what banks are offering the best Lira and STG rates at present.

Many thanks in advance

HSBC and Creditwest offer the easiest (imho) English speaking friendly internet banking, rates at the mo are much around 8% for tl denominations and say 3.5% for sterling.

32 day time deposit accounts are 8.5 % at HSBC and Garanti Bank is offering 8.75% on 32 day accounts, but on E-Banking only.

Check the sites out, they are all competing with each other now.

This was a subject I brought up a couple of years ago with Creditwestbank Rep.

My accounts are with Creditwest and I have nothing but praise for the Catalkoy branch which is superb in all aspects from services to all their great staff.... like Deniz

However altho I was given a password to access my accounts online, in the two years since, I have never done so because unlike UK banks their is no guarantee in place against internet fraud for the account holder.

CreditWestRep promised to look into this and meet the challenge but to my knowledge things remain the same? Question 25 in the link below.

While HSBC have internet banking here they are not yet part of the HSBC 'global' system (whereas the UK are). This means transfers must still go via SWIFT rather than the much easier and faster 'global' system.

HSBC also have a telephone banking service with operators who speak good English.

I don't like the internet banking with Turk Bankasi.

Garanti Bank is well organized and I love the internet banking system. If you have any questions the staff is really helpfull!
