Perhaps somebody can confirm or not but I always believed that a work permit was for 1 job with 1 employer for 1 year - and it cannot be transferred.

I don't want to dampen Whitefoot's enthusiasm but it is better she know the facts.

Obviously you do not anything about employment and work permit regulations. A work permit can be transferred to another employer providing it is not your first work permit in which case you can only transfer it after six months, and yes a work permit is only for one place of employment and one job, hence the transfer from one place of employment to another, for which the lady has already done, having had her work permit for several years. I hope this satisfies your curiosity.
