Looking at moving out and renting for a year or so whilst we look at buying. Question, what sort of monthly cost are we looking at for long term rent, we would be looking for a villa / bungalow / cottage 1/2 bedroom would prefer country rather than town.

hi there again wise move in renting before you buy (try before you buy) so you find the place for and also to see if cyprus is for you depending what areas you are lookıng (and what kind of property) at either east coast (catalkoy - esentepe - arapkoy etc) or west coast (lapta- alsancak-karsiyaka) or girine centre rent can start from about 500lıra (about 200pounds) upto 2000lıra (800 pounds) i would advise you thou to stay away from people renting out their places as a holiday let because exactly what it says 'holiday' so you will be paying a higher premium rather than renting a long term place of a local i know a few people who rent in the centre of town for a 2 bed apartmnet about 750lıra so ajust accordingly hope this helps

hi graham like i said most expats who rent out their properties rent them as holiday lets and charge a lot more than the locals the best thing to do is when you are over drive around the villages you want to be, any properties that have any notices on their window which writes 'kiralik' this means for rent or on the other hand if you phone gonul at donaghy and beyler she is the manager of one of the offices im sure she can help you and get a general idea on how much you will pay gonuls telephone number is 0090 5338684711 tell her i put you in contact with her (erkan ibrahim from turkey) or their email is: info@donaghyandbeyler.com put it for the attention of her so she gets it hope this helps you mate

Hi Grahamlil, I have a detached bunalow 2 bedrooms overlooking communal pool on very quiet site in the country below Esentepe village. The bungalow is in it's own gardens and has amazing sea and mountain views. The main bedroom is ensuite. It is fully equipped with fridge/freezer washing machine, oven, hob microwave, dishwasher. It is available from the end of August. Esentep is in the country and the complex is opposite the small fishing harbour It is fully furnished to a high standard. The rent would be £350 per month exclusive of water and electric.
