I am looking for a bigger Swimming Pool to hold my Aqua Aerobics classes (for at least 10 people). This needs to be in the Central Girne area, I would be grateful for any sensible suggestions. Thankyou.

Thanks Kantara Thanks Babrew - Do you mean if you look through the window from PC? I'm a little unsure where you mean. Linedancer, thankyou too. I loved Bukuk Anadolu & the staff were so good there, but some of the ladies found it too deep, such a shame!

Thanks again everyone for the posts - Does anyone know where the Socrates is exactly so I can go & have a look at the pool (if it is open). Cac123 - Yes, I will definately. I just seem to be having a problematic time with finding a suitable pool here in central Girne.

Pumps gym, by the Bellapais traffic lights, has a wonderful full size pool. Used it a lot when it was a restaurant, but I believe it's now only open to gym members. You could probably arrange to use it on a regular basis.

TBH, I don't think that You'll find any Hotelier in central Kyrenia, Willing to upset Hotel guests in Peak season by telling them that the pool is off limits (Even if it is only a short period).

Donaldson thankyou - Pumps said to me that because of it sloping so dramatically, it's unsuitable. They had to stop their own Aqua classes because of it. A good suggestion though, thankyou. Ttoli thankyou also for your information of Socrates. You could well be right about what you said as that may be the reason for some of the knock-backs. However, some have responded more positively seeing it as a service for their guests too (unfortunately the pools have either been too deep or had steps in the pool!)

YES found it YES its the Nostalgia Hotel and the pool and bar is a separate building round the corner. I got their business card..... http://www.nostalgiaboutiquehotel.com. 815 3079. It doesnt look that busy so maybe you can do a deal with them even though the website says pool for residents only. GOOD LUCK. FERMAN Restaurant and Bar (thats the name written on the bar and you can see the pool through the window) but generally the place is closed!

Have you thought about the Courtyard? Its not very far from central Girne, and has the advantage of plenty of on site parking which would be advantage for anyone (like me) who might try Aqua Aerobatics because of walking difficulties! A central Girne location actually puts me off! Lovely pool in lovely setting. Access by "ladder" type steps at shallow end.

BizziLizzi - Thankyou for your posting & suggestion. I think we have somewhere now for the next couple of weeks and my participants have now asked for me to look for an indoor pool as they feel it will be too cold in the outdoor one in October.

Hi BizziLizzi...you don't have to walk far to the pool we are using. You can park your car directly in front of the pool area... Easy access to the pool..... And nice setting as well...

Josie I was wondering what you did in winter!? Will you post details when you start up in the indoor pool? PS I normally swim (pool and sea) till end October, but would like some aquatic (ie non weight bearing) excercise during winter.

Thanks Kantara for your support - the current Kaan swimming pool we are using does have easy access as you say. BizziLizzi - The Aqua sounds like it will be great for you because as you say it is non-weight bearing. We are hoping to transfer to the indoor pool for October but need to find somewhere suitable. Please feel free to contact me whenever you feel you wish to join in. swyflot - Thankyou for your suggestion, but I have been informed this is now closed.

Kantara - I haven't got there yet. Just to let you know I went to Nostalgia though, but it was too deep for some of the shorter participants, so that's another one off the list. For those of you interested in joining the Aqua Aerobics, I wish to confirm that it is at the Kaan Hotel for the next 2 weeks or so, if you wish to book a space please email me.
