If you are using a uk mobile or phoning a uk mobile you will be fine. It is only when you are using a TRNC number to phone an ROC number that you will have problems.

don;'t forget it is a long distance call. I am able to send sms, or use a land line for a long distance call to your friends. Pricey but if you are quick should be O.K. Also a U.K. mobile on roaming is better than a TRNC on roaming. howeve,r depends where your friend is in the south, because quite often our mobiles can stretch over quite a way!

grubster Msg 1. If you are using a UK mobile or a Cytamobile you can call Turkcell & Telsim numbers from the RoC and anywhere in the TRNC (signal pending) you can also receive calls vice versa with no problems.

My Turkcell mobile will call South Cyprus phone numbers, it just doesn't work south of the boarder as there is no network sharing between the two partys.

grubster Msg 5. You're welcome and good luck. mark&beck Msg 8. If you make calls frequently from Turkcell to RoC numbers it may be worthwhile getting a cytamobile sim card. The initial cost is about 15 Euros (of that you get 5 Euros talk time) and the call costs are very reasonable. Very useful if you are delayed in the RoC and you need to contact someone or be contacted.

Slatnumber7... Thanks for that, I got a cytamobile sim card for that very reason and there very good. You can top-up at the airport as well which is handy! Cheers
