Just had wireless installed but sadly my Netgear router brought over from the UK no longer works. I need a new router and also a PCI card to enable wireless on our PC. Is anyone selling one or can recommend where I can buy one? Many thanks

We are selling wireless Access Points/routers starting at 50TL with newer technology ones (N technology) going at 80TL for our customers only at Multimax, with no extra charge for installation. If you just installed wireless with us, you are in luck!, just call our office during office hours, and a representative will gladly help you out. Otherwise, I suggest you check out one of the computer shops in the city. Sorry I dont have access to your full name to check. Kemal

Thank you Kemal and yes I am one of your customers. I have spoken with Mudasser and will go and see him later today. Do you also have the PCI card with it so that we can use it with our PC? Think the problem with our existing one is that it doesn't work with Windows 7.... thank you

we dont have a pci card, but a very nice usb wireless sticks with external antenna is available for around 40TL that should get you pretty good reception. This usb stick combined with our 80TL (N technology) access point should provide you up to 150Mbps indoor bandwidth and pretty good range within the house. K.

Slightly off topic for this thread but maybe someone here knows. Are there any plug in devices availale which will send/receive signals from my PC to the TV to avoid untidy cables trailing around the room? TIA. Sb.

re msg 5 what distance is involved? If you are sending HD quality stuff - you need good throughput. normal wireless speeds aren't enough. You can buy 'em from 30 GBP on amazon, but they may not all allow the commands from ( say) a SKY+ remote to be extended.. Decent ones cost 200GBP plus..

Thanks yet again Mark. . I take it that picture quality degrades with distance It was the portability and convenience of a laptop which I had in mind. I wonder if a parcel from Amazon would ever get here??? HD quality would not be an issue, BBC 1 ITV ordinary channels via the net. So how does it work - are there 2 plug in devices? Sb. ps - apologies to the OP, although it appears that his query has been dealt with.

Msg 8 - Well that should be secure enough. Are there a lot of places to visit and hoops to jump through before you can actually take custody of the parcel or do DHL act as clearing agents and do all the paperwork and fees? Sb.

We picked up a parcel from DHL and all seemed very straight forward. Just had to prove that we were the addressee and our address in the North.

re msg 7 YES, distance degrades the picture quality There are 2.4GHz wireless senders - c.30 GBP - but they have a VERY short range and are subject to interference - if you REALLY want wireless, go 5.8GHz. Personally speaking, I'd rather find a way to channel the cables and avoid any interference probs..
