Pure laziness but can anyone advise when blood test results have to provided? My recollection was that you needed a request from the Police first but can you go to a lab. directly.



Also are the queues at Girne still bad i.e. a 7.00 arrival?

You have to attend the police dept first with all your relevant paperwork, once they have processed it all they will give you a blood test form, you then go back to the police dept with proof of payment. you then collect blood test results 3-4 days later, You then go to Nicosia 2-3 weeks later to collect your residency.

Just did ours, the policeman wanted to know why we didn't just get the bloods done first, makes it all easier. The form from the Police is just to tell the lab what tests, but they all know.

Easier, and saves a trip if you do them first.

did ours in lefcosa today - arrived 8am - office opened 8.30 - done and dusted by 9.30 - great service

The only hold up is at Girne police station, not enough staff, not enough organization, far, far to many back door customers, no list of requirements available and nothing provided to enable a list of names to be compiled. Am told that you can use the police stations at other major towns to avoid these long and silly waiting games but have not tried that yet - next year if needed.



Lefcosia have it all sussed without a problem, turn up and put your name on the list, around 0830 you get a ticket, sit and wait for the electronic numbers to change and just do your thing - no problem at all.



Give it three weeks after Girne before you go to Lefcosia and you should have no problems. By the way - told by the lady in the clinic that if your blood test is no good then they inform the police immediately and the police come straight to you. That being the case, the only requirement to take the "secret, sealed envelope" up to Lefcosia is so that it can go on your file!
