Have just read on another post that the weather forecast for this coming Saturday is for heavy showers. Someone please tell me this is not true, we have tickets for the Girne amphitheatre that night.

Wednesday night - Sense and Sensibility at Bellapais Abbey

Thursday night - Kismet Choral Group at Bellapais Abbey - sold out

Friday night - Bex Marshall - relocated to Jasmine Court

Saturday night - Bohemians, Secret Police and Funky Monkey going ahead at the Amphitheatre

Sunday night - Haluk Levent has posponed his concert to a later date - details to come.



Tickets still available for all events except Kismet Choral Group which is sold out.



Cafe George in the square have tickets.

If the predicted Storm comes and the Amphitheatre is unusable for the Friday and Saturday night concerts, ie the lighting and sound rigs become a danger to the public, we have a standby (inside) venue in the Girne area. Watch this board or http://www.girnefestival for updates nearer the event.

We have been assured that there will only be light showers on Saturday, if any, so we've decided to go ahead with the Saturday concert as planned.

No you can't take your own food and drink into the amphitheatre. These are strict Belediye rules and they will be enforced. Security staff at the door will be stopping people entering with coolboxes, etc.

Girne Belediyesi have donated the use of the amphitheatre to the Cheshire Home free of charge, but they still need to pay for cleaning, electricity, etc. The food and drink concessions are their only way of recouping some of this cost. Beer, wine and soft drinks were extremely reasonable last year and I have no reason to think they'll be any more expensive this year.

But if you can`t take food.................are they selling food............other than crisps..........



Just so we know whether to have a meal beforehand.

Belediyesi have been told to supply food for up to 1200 plus and lots of beer... they say no problem and have said it will not just be crisps... we have asked for a burger van at least!!!!

Weather forecast for tonight according to Accweather: clear!

Weather last night: clear

Bar was fully stocked: beer (5TL Efes, Miller, Becks), wine, soft drinks

Food on sale: hot dog and chip, burger and chips

Door open tonight at 6pm, tickets on sale at the door: limited!

If you don't want to risk it, members of the Festival11 team will be at the Amphitheatre from 1030 you can go down and get your tickets from them.

6pm Gates open

7.30pm Funky Monkey

8.30pm Secret Police

10pm Bohemians
