As an airplane is about to crash, a female passenger frantically jumps up, removes all her clothing and announces, "If I'm going to die, I want to die feeling like a woman. Is there anyone on this plane who is man enough?" A man stands up, removes his shirt and says, "Here, iron this." Just kidding!!!

Strange thing about English Women, they marry you because they like what they see, then try (and usually succeed in trying) to change you ,then don't like what they see... Steer clear ,is my advise....

Well, having read some of these posts, I'm not sure all us married women realise quite how lucky we are We must learn to thank our lucky stars in future!

An excerpt from my novel - 'The Remittance Man's Roots' The merry Yuletide festivities yielded numerous invitations to parties, where I met a variety of females of varying ages, backgrounds and occupations. I came to the conclusion that it was really I who was unsuitable to even consider trying to pursue a relationship with any of their ilk. They were all seeking the ‘perfect man’ – an achiever, computer literate and, preferably, to have undergone vasectomy. I was a jobless under-achiever, mainly due to the fact that there wasn’t much call for underwater photographers on Humberside, or even Merseyside or Tyneside, in January! My computer literacy amounted to counting on four fingers and slipping an elastic band round my thumb for the memory! In addition, to cap it all, I didn’t shoot blanks with my ‘meat-gun’!

Msg 21-Cont'd: These women’s material expectations were way above my means and, having listened to their feminist claptrap, it didn’t take too much to deduce that these nags’ track record in the ‘Fidelity Stakes’ was abysmal. The contemporary relevance of the fundamental marriage vows were blatantly ignored or interpreted as being outmoded and consequently insignificant. What concerned me most was the perception of ‘loyalty’ held by too many Western women. To cite a ‘feline-orientated’ example: A man has a cat, for which he has always put cream out on a daily basis for the past, say, seven years, but one day he has run out of cream and only has milk. If his neighbour puts out cream to entice the cat, she will jump over the garden wall to the neighbour!

Msg 21-Cont'd: To cite such an analogy as pertaining to a large percentage of women, only serves to illustrate the degree of commitment that seems to be their conventional, accepted social practice. It is futile and feckless to brand such a factual assertion as the embittered ravings of a dyed-in-the-wool misogynist – the divorce statistics speak for themselves! I could see no future in temporarily bankrolling some egotistical and potential opportunist. Being of a generous nature, I knew I presented fair game to a wily woman, well practised in the art of exploitation.

Tenakoutou That was beautifully expressed and so true. But I think it is not so much the case in less Westernised countries. The girls I have met in Thailand and the Philippines (obviously excluding the 'commercial' women) do not have this feminist bent and are far happier to remain faithful in a genuinely equal relationship (even subservient although it is not to my taste). Or maybe they are even better con artists!

My ever increasing deafness in a marriage exceeding 47 years has brought some benefit to the relationship but I have negated most of this by involuntarily and foolishly learning to lip read by watching television. My eyes are now becoming as dim as my brain so all is not lost. The Wildebeest (bless her) is now displaying the first signs of madness by talking to herself !

martinD41/msg 27: I've got 'Wonderful Tonight' sorted in G, too + harmonica bit! So not to deviate from the subject of this thread - this song eulogises an English woman - or, presumably she was! So, listen to that song, 'happyitaliano'/msg 1, and keep wishing and hoping!

Clarissa2/msg 37: 'Does THIS thread serve any purpose?!' It certainly does, 'Clarissa2' - it epitomises the very 'raison d'etre' of any social forum - that is: a person's right to air any sort of drivel - within reason, of course!
