For the second year we are having a MENS HEALTH WEEK.



Last year 2 men were diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, early stages, both decided to go back to the UK for treatment which was successful. If they hadn't took part in this they would never have known!!!

The men Health Week will run from the 10th of October but may go onto into the following weeks depending on the response.

Cost is males up to 50years 550tl ................................over 50 years 660tl

Consists of the following tests

Full set of bloods including.............fasting blood sugar & cholesterol.....PSA (prostate) kidney & liver function and more. If you need a full list of the blood tests I can supply.

Urine testing

Stool testing.



Chest x-ray

Abdominal Ultrasound checks liver, kidneys gall bladder etc.

Cardiology includes treadmill, and ECG

Physical examination

Dental examination

Eye examination.

Normally there from 10am, first fasting bloods then you have time for breakfast before the rest of the tests. You see the appropriate consultant as the results come in. You should get all the results same day but expect to be there until approx 4pm. It is a long day, but last year there were a lot of friendships made and a lot of fun when the men got together.

Hopefully last questions from me:

1] As well as seeing the consultants do they give a written report in English?

2] How long before they give the reports (a day or two)?

3] Do they give a receipt in English on Hospital headed paper?

Oh, as a general rule I don't call back numbers I don't recognise... too many wrong numbers costing me money and for some reason they get annoyed if I answer and it's not the number they want...

Mind you it's not just here... in the UK I once had a telephone number that was only one digit away from an Aldershot taxi rank... used to get drunk squaddies at all hours swearing at me because they'd just used their last bit of credit and got the wrong number - somehow this was my fault... :(

Thank you Chris for arranging this. My partner had his check up last week and luckily everything all ok apart from cholesterol, which secretly, I am pleased about because it is the same as mine! This means now that I can change our diet without complaints!

I just hope that more will see the sense and realise they only have one go at this life and £230 ish for peace of mind and early diagnosis is a small price to pay - less than 100 cans of Efes!
