Did you know that you'd need to obtain a permit from forestry(orman dairesi) before cutting down a tree?

I must admit that I fell foul on this account even though I was only trimming my Olive trees,Was severly reprimanded by the Forestry and chainsaw confiscated

Is Jaybee correct about pruning trees?. Does this mean when I prune my olive trees in January (which I always do) that I am breaking the law?....Do I really need a permit?

Please will you clarify as my chain saw was rather expensive!
