Sorry, but yet another enquiry, prior to my forthcoming trip to the TRNC in December. I've heard some-where [can't recall where] that there are cashpoints from which you can withdraw Sterling banknotes. Is this true, as it seems a tad strange? If so; as there would be no international exchange rate to worry about, do UK banks charge you for using cashpoints in TRNC to withdraw Sterling? Thanks again to those who've answered previous questions and thanks in advance for this one.

There are cash points that allow you to withdraw sterling here, principaly HBSC but there are others as well. I pay no transaction or currency conversion fees if I withdraw sterling from these cashpoints using a nationwide debit card attached to nationwide current account. Not sure if this is true for other bank cards.

HSBC in Girne' ATM's certainly will deliver GBP. You would have to check with your UK bank as to their level of charges for this service. Martinev
