I have a 2m dish with Sky Hd box but have recently not been getting a signal for BBC News on 503. Has anyone else lost this signal and is their a solution. I have reset the Sky box but it has not helped. Thanks in anticipation

Hi Chippy, if you read the link, you'd see that that isn't the case. Those who get BBC / ITV via larger dishes STILL receive it

Hi mmmmmmm, I also don't get BBC Parliament as well as BBC news 24 on my 4.2 dish anymore. Do I need to re-tune to 10773, and if so. how do I do it? TIA

Sorry, Vaughan.. BBC Parliament is now on a vertical polarisation on Astra 2D - the signal can't reach CY :( [ Like BBC1 HD and BBC HD]

I have been trying to help a friend today to regain the lost channels. She lives 20km west of Larnaca and has a 2.4M dish I knew it would pay to look at this Forum for help, and, sure enough, here it is. However I was not successful. I tried the two frequencies mentioned and got 'No signal received', or, on one occaision 'There is a technical fault - please try later' So I'm stumped, I would have thought the 2.4 dish would have been ok although previously the only BBC channel installed was BBC News. For the Techies (6M ?), I have heard previously that that certain receive box's are better than others, namely 'Pace' models, maybe those are what they sell here. Box in use is a 'Thomson 286 544, version 4EO 701. - brought from UK EPG 3.8.8. Sig strength about 70% Sig quality about 15% (looks poor but I don't know what the yardstick is here as I do not myself have SKY) Is there any hope or am I wasting my time? TIA. Sb.

Hi S/boy a 2.4m in LCA will NOT pick up the channels moved to Astra 2D :( You need a 3.6/3.8m there to get the BBCs and the red button - no no way will anyone get BBC Parliament

Thanks as always 6M. Since we do not give BBC any licensing money we can hardly complain about them cost cutting. It was ok to shift something like BBC Alba to the sidings but BBC News was pretty important, quite apart from it's 'red button attraction, and will be sorely missed. All the best, Sb.
