Can someone tell me how much would I have to pay for a prescription for say Statins or BP tablets that I currently get free in UK. tks

Depends what sort of pills they are, but I'm on statins and 2 sorts of BP pills and for a month the approximate cost is aprox 50tl

Most things are very reasonably priced at the Chemist but you should get someone to check the actual drug you need as a few things are expensive ie: Aricept is 50tl for 14 tablets

Yes, you will need to check carefully. Some tablets can be purchased but in generic form or the name more commonly used in Turkey, consequently are much cheaper than you would think. A tablet made by some of the bigger well know drug companies i.e. Pfizer Lyrica - a pain killer - are 31.47tl for 14. ALSO, and I suspect it's because of the fluctuating money exchange the pharmacist I use has started to cancel out the tl price and substitute a sterling price. Night Nurse is now priced at £7.45. (this only applies to well know UK brands)
