Trying to get travel insurance for a trip to vietnam in january (17 days). problem is that i have lived here temporarily for 6 years . Insurance companies in the uk and on the internet state you must fly from your place of permanent residency !. Have a uk address but have to be living in the uk for 6 months prior to flying.

anyone had this problem before. any ideas would be gratefully received along with any recommendations.

Google World Nomads Travel Inusrance. Used them from here to USA IN 2009 very good rate.

tried nomads but heres the problem........ it asks where your permanent residency is.........so which is it i wonder??? . most of us are Temporary here ! but if i put the uk then i have to be resident there for a minimum of 6 months prior to departure.????

Try Bengo travel insurance (think they have changed their name but it still comes up) they cover you from TRNC.

Try staysure.co.uk they have a special Expats insurance section. Also you could Skype them on; +440034952010016.

They cover annual multi trip as well as single trip, cover many of the more common illnesses and split the age groups.

cyprus - after all susie that is where you are living and where you will be leaving from, it is the only place the worldwide one will not cover you for.
