Took a 9ct gold neck chain to be repaired as a link had broken. Went to pick it up the other day but refused to accept it as it's a bad repair. A 2" part of the chain has discoloured and what can only look like a small blob of white toothpaste is now showing. The guy is having a word with his manager and will call me back but realistically what can I expect should the 2nd repair not be up to scratch. Any reasonable ideas please?

I took a ring in to be repaired a couple of months ago, and he looked at me and said "you live here don't you" as a statement rather than a question, and then said - no charge. A good price I think.

Took 2 bracelets in to a shop in Girne to be repaired. Went back to collect them a couple of days later and the owner said "No charge for nice customer!!" Went and bought them some cookies to say thank you ....wouldn't get that sort of service in the UK.
