Hello, I have 2 Questions which i would love someone to answer them.

I finished 3 years studying Computers and now im looking for apprenticeship in london atm but not finding any luck.

Q1: If i moved to Cyprus do you think i could find a job repairing computers or studying in uni or maybe apprenticeship? (if there is anything like this in North Cyprus)

Q2: if i do move to Cyprus like i've said on Q1, Can i do normal service in the army? as in 1 year and 5 months? (im not sure if its that long) i have a British passport. I was born in uk. My mother was born in Cyprus but my father was born in uk.

P.S. if you don't understand what im trying to say; i pretty much finished 3 years studying computers at college and thinking of moving to Cyprus and look for job or study computers more but in uni and other question im explaining is if i do move to North Cyprus can i do the army like a normal Cypriot does than doing the 3 months i was told i can do.

Thanks for the help.

Mustafa,

You omitted the most relevant information which I found in your profile. Never mind where you or your parents were born, the key fact is that you have parents of Turkish Cypriot origin. that entitles you automatically for TRNC citizenship and also you must do army service. I am not very familiar with the details but I am sure our experts like Erol will advise you soon.

Getting work here is not so easy but at least as a citizen of TRNC you do not need a work permit.

The site below lays out the requirments.

If you are under 31 years of age then you would be libale for 8 months service I think. Over 31 and it is 4 months. I do not know if you can chose to do more I am afraid.

You may also be able to buy yourself out for 4000GBP or less if your prepared to do one months service. Much depends on how much time you spent in Cyprus before conscription age.

Msg 1: Yes i know that as well. i went to the place where i had to sort out my papers for the army thing and straight away they said i should just pay up £3000 and not do the army.. in my eyes i cant really do that even though i have very bad turkish i still want to do the army.

You say looking for a job isnt easy, do you think someone like me could find something IF i did move? from your own personal opinion?

Thank you Sir.

Msg 2: Im 19 years old going to be 20 next year so im guessing i will be doing the full term which is 15 months? or 3 months?

Thank you

Msg 3: planning to move to North Cyprus for good and im age 19 so if i plan on moving it will be next year.

Thank you
