I remember Steve Jobs, who helped change the world, by quoting his words: ""Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do," he told the Stanford grads in 2005. "If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on." More than one pundit, praising Jobs' ability to transform entire industries with his inventions, called him a modern-day Leonardo Da Vinci. (Source: CNN on line). Written on and sent from my iPad 2.

Such a shame this. An incredible guy with so much energy and vision dying so young. It will be interesting to see how Apple respond to this. If they believe and buy in to the hype that the organisation is only as good as the leader, then they are in trouble. If this is the case, then Google, who with their more distributed and informal leadership model could wipe the floor with Apple in the next five years. The top companies in the future will be those that devolve and decentralise their decision making processes. Its bottom up not top down. Its about utilising the collective intelligence which is much more powerful than one mans intelligence.

They say your life flashes before your eyes just before you die. Unfortunately for Steve Jobs, he hadn't got a Flash player installed.

Agree with message 9; philbailey I know you say you have a "different" type of sense of humour to most, but I found your posts disrespectful to a man who could have been (and was) accurately described as a genius. To die at such a young age is tragic - for anyone. RIP Mr Jobs.
