About a year ago we were in Lefkosa, not far from the Mosque and passed a beautiful old building which was in the process of being totally restored internally. The owner noticed our curiosity and volunteered to show us all around the place. At that stage, much of it was still a shell, but it had an internal patio/garden area with rooms off, Cypriot ceilings and very large rooms. He said by this year it would be opened as a restaurant and hopefully even bedrooms to let, like a pension? As sometimes we would love to stay the night in Lefkosa and there seems never to be anywhere special, I was really exited by this project. Can anyone tell me if this is now finished and open and what is the name and contact details? He gave me his card, but I lost it!

Can;'t help, but I know that Sabor Restaurant at the back of the Mosque is going to convert the adjacent El Bar into a studio holiday place. Not big, but you couldn't get more central than that. it will be a small one bed place. work not yet started, but it should be ready by the end of the year. As to the other one, iwill try to make enquiries. But when you say 'not far' - in which direction. Remember anything else nearby>>>

Hi Marion,

It was very near the "old market" (which had closed last November) It was as we were walking from the

Street with the fabrics in (the old street leading to the border) towards the front of the Mosque, the market was on the corner we turned left there, and I am sure it was on the LEFT along that street probably almost opposite the Mosque??

I do hope it was a success, it was simply stunning inside, what they were doing. I know Sabor's obviously, but it was well before we got there? If you do happen to find out would love to hear. Many thanks
