Sorry to be asking for help again - does anyone know if TRNC Law is available online anywhere (preferably in English!). Many thanks.

The short answer is No. If you have a specific query, a lawyer can research and find the answer

Actually, the short answer would appear to be yes http://www.mahkemeler.net/cgi-bin/default.aspx

There appears to be some "chapters" in English but I haven't looked through to see what they are http://www.mahkemeler.net/cgi-bin/fasiling.aspx

In most other countries your advice would be sound. However you could ask the same question to 6 advocates in the TRNC and get very differing advice. There is also the problem of working within "invisible" laws. A prime example being the refusal of PTP on Pre 74 Turkish Title Deed. There is no law prohibiting foreigners from buying this property but we all know that foreigners will be denied because of Government/Military policy.

Few advocates admit to this when you ask them to do your conveyancing though.

Brown envelopes seem to be the order of the day.
