Nothing that isn't immoral, or illegal, or both.

If you have got skills and brains, why not to start your own business instead of trying to find an employer and then complain that he does not pay enough ?

I assume, message 7, that the original poster is not a Turkish Cypriot. That being the case, how do you suggest that any normal person could afford to start their own business here with the costs being as they are? My best advice is to leave the TRNC - it is a country that, frankly, is without hope in the economic sense at any time in the foreseeable future! Whatever skills Katrin might have, she will be hard pressed to find anybody here to employ her on a living wage.

Katerina

You're 23 years of age, married and wish to make money? What on earth is your husband upto?!!

A curriculum vitae/resume may help!

Nobody should be allowed to have a job and make money if it is stated as "How to make money if you cant find a good job??????????????Any suggestions???"

Who are you? what is your name? Current status in Cyprus? Education? Qualifications? Previous Employment? What are you good for? What you want to do? The list can go on and on, and when you get this information together it is called a resume or a CV that is crucial nowadays for finding a job.

I cannot believe that from a thread as stupid as this, people are making suggestions that she will not find a job here because island is dead economically. As much as this may be partially true, the economic situation in the whole world is not really much better.

I myself has given job to approx 20 jobs to people from 5 countries in the past 6 months.

As I see it, the reason that Katrin cannot and will not find a job has nothing to do with anything else but the fact that she does not know how to present herself.

I advised you some weeks ago (under your other id Katerinka) to produce a CV - I hope you did because, as others tell you here, it is essential. If it will help I can email to you an example CV.

You must understand that it is very hard for foreigners to get any job here. The government discourages businesses from employing foreigners and there is also a natural tendency for TCs to give jobs (especially good jobs) to their friends and family because there are very few large businesses here. Consequently there isn't the job market you will find elsewhere - nor the employment agencies or websites. The country has a lot of universities (maybe there is some opportunity there for you) and there are many TCs with degrees who also cannot find a good job.

It is not impossible for you, it can happen, but you cannot base your plan to live here on finding employment. If you cannot live without a job then you would be better to seek another country where the employment prospects are better.

I understand. But you shouldn't criticise people on the board - most are retired and have no experience of the job market - so they are not able to help you.

Also (it may just be your English) do not send your cv - take it and let them see you, talk to you and get a feel for you as a person (although in my case that would probably count against me). Then after 1 or 2 weeks go back and ask if they read your cv and if they have found work for you. And go again and again - and always with a BIG smile.

I still recommend estate agencies because I guess your primary language is Russian and now more Russians buy property here than English. This also means that advocates et. al. need Russian/Turkish translations.

Turkey does a lot of business with Russia and the former Warsaw Pact and, as the majority of university students here are Turkish, they may be opportunities for you at a university. Although I don't know if they have Russian language courses it cannot hurt to go and ask.

Good luc
