Hi just wondered if anyone knew if there were any fish farms in the area where we can buy fresh fish at a good price? I am used to regularly visiting fish farms in Turkey where you can buy fresh trout by the bucketload, for little over a lira per fish! Just wondered if anyone knew of any farms around the island. Happy to travel further afield! Thanks x

I think you'll need a boat, the only fish farms here are out at sea and produce "Tasteless Sea Bass".. smoked Trout is imported from Turkey but they are very small fillets....and way overpriced....

There is a Trout farm where you can buy fresh trout - but I am afraid it is on the South Side (you did say you would travel further...) It is in Kakopetria in the Troodos (it is in the northern area of Troodos so not actually too far). Nice place to visit as well whilst you are picking up your fish ! Hope that helps

There must be fish farms in Cyprus . Because the sea brass off my local fish merchant in fleetwood comes from fish farms in Cyprus. And very taster they are to.

that's great news! Yes, there MUST be lots of fish farms around! Just well hidden! I'll keep my eyes peeled when I'm next out Fanagusa way - Kittyfun - can you point me in the direction of the ones you know of in Famagusta? Perry - thanks for the tip! I am yet to explore the Trodos area, so what better reason! Thanks so much for that info! Thanks guys x
