Yes, shooting has been going on for a while and continues till mid-November. There's been lots of coverage in Cyprus Today and The Star. It's a thriller/love story set in 1957 called "Codename Venus" and deals with the conflict on the Island at the time of the independance struggle. The stars are Jonny Lee Kemp and Jolie Myatt plus a number of island based expats in supporting roles. The film is scheduled for cinema release in Turkey and throughout Europe in March 2012.

And what he doesn't say is 'Including me - Poodledog.! Seems to be a holdup at the moment due to unavailability of sets, but 'this is Cyprus' so......... The writer./director/producer is Tamir Garip. Does that answer all, Blackfig, or is there anything else?

Thanks Paul. A nice graphic description!!!!!! don;'t think they would suit the title of the film 'Code Name Venus' though! Incidentlaly, there are several of us who are supposed to be part of a Governor's Ball scene, but scratchingour heads wondering where to get 1950's ball gowns! Hmmmmm

Blackfig, you are correct. Tamer wanted as many extras as he could get. 'Bring your friends' he said, but to date he has not said where and when. If you like WHEN I hear I will e mail you, or even put it on here. so far none of us have heard what is happening, although told that the 'crowd' scenes were 22nd to 29th. Guess Tamer is having more trouble than expected finding the proper venue.

Bumped into the man at Starlings yesterday with Jolie M the leading lady. I heard that some of the ex pats have been filmed over the last ocuple of days, and Tamer's parting shot was 'I will be in touch when it is your turn'. I was a tad sarcy and said 'If I am free'. Trouble with this place is that everything is last minute and not always possib le, but I promise to let you know blackfig if I hear of a place and time.
