| On Friday, October 28th, at the Mountain View hotel in Karaoglanoglu starting at 7-30pm - DJ Max & myself will be hosting another (the 3rd) of our Tamla Motown & Soul, dance and music nights in aid of the '112' charity. Tickets are 20 lira per person and that will include a meal from the now, quite well known, Mountain View's buffet table. The event is an all ticket affair and these can be obtained from - Pam's art stall at the Carpenters Friday morning market - the '112' charity stall at the Saturday morning Lambousa market - or by calling the following numbers:- Mike on 0533 830 5374 - Max on 0533 845 2610 - Jenny on 0533 876 1483 - and - Brenda on 0533 840 7834. As the last two events were sell-outs, it would be advisable, if you are wanting to come, to order and collect your tickets early to avoid disappointment. We can guarantee you a crackin' night of dancing & singing, to music from a classic era. Looking forward to seeing you there, DJ MIKE. |

| I have nearly 800 Motown tracks available to play so if you have any requests in advance I would be delighted to play for you. Just to get you in the mood :- Which artist had the first Motown hit? What was the first American chart topper, and who famously covered the track? What was the first UK Motown Number 1? Max... |

| Bill, it was the Beatles that first got me interested in to listening to Motown. If you recall the first 2 albums they recorded, not evey track was written by Lennon & McCartney. They recorded a cover of Motown's first ever hit on the Billboard 'MONEY', as well as Pleases Mr Postman, Twist & Shout and You've Really Got A Hold On Me. By 1964/65 Motown tracks were regurally played on the pirate stations and of course Radio Luxemburg, which led to Dusty Springfield championing the 'then' new sound by presenting Ready Steady Go with her Motown sessions.
