I have just returned from a most enjoyable stay at the Five Fingers Bungalows. Really lovely place, warm welcome, family run, small, very private and peaceful. NOthing too much trouble. Lovely pool. Breakfast on the roof terrace with lovely views to the med. Found it on the internet and really pleased that I did.

How is Arif these days? Haven't seen him since he left the restaurant business. Is his mother still running things?

Arif is fine. As for his mother running things, she seems to sit very much in the background but who knows with mothers. However very up front providing a lovely friendly welcome every time you see her.

Jalie, Arif 's mother, makes the best lemonade in Cyprus.

I live just up the road from the Bungalows and call in for a glass of lemonade often. She is also a great cook.

As said above the 5 Fingers Bungalows is a great place to have a holiday and run by a lovely family who all speak English and you will find they will give you a great welcome or as they say in Turkish,

Hosgeldiniz.

Yes, lovely people who maintain N Cyprus traditions and remind me of how it used to be before the influx of "settlers".

Many a night we spent at the old 5 Fingers restaurant and enjoyed good food, good service and pickled walnuts to finish!!

Long may they continue!!!
