How about if a local opened a TV Lounge showing Sky with some nice cakes on offer, hot drinks, sitting in nice surroundings with incredibly comfy loungers and pretty tie back nets round the chairs giving privacy for those wanting to go and sit alone and watch TV. What do you think?

You mean like a cafe with comfy chairs and a big TV screen just like home, and with fattening cakes that I refuse to make. But where?

Is there a nice coffee lounge anywhere there without tv or music where you can sit in comfort and talk? that would sound good to me if there is.

A comfortable lounge with tea and coffeee (and toasted teacakes, havent had them for ages) NO TV, no radio, no music. A goodly supply of books and magazines, maybe two or three booths with a chess board and backgammon and scrabble, sounds civilized to me.

Agreed BizziLizzi - had those in Oz when I was there - magic. To be able to read and chat without loud music and meet friends and even enjoy their company in silence when reading, . In fact it got me thinking aout The Dome coffee bar chain (similar to Glooria jeans) where they had all the games to play, chess, backgammon scrabble and more whilst drinking coffee etc. But come on message 1 - tlel us more.

you are all so funny ha ha. Ok so lets tell a cypriot to open a bigger lounge and partition off for those that dont want to sit and listen to English TV but just chat and read, I think it would work. Toasted tea cakes......................ooh yes.

well Id like somewhere nice to sit and watch Sky TV with a nice cup of tea, instead of crap TV which all seems to be American sitcoms, chat shows etc.

A prison or a retirement home would have television blaring - in the case of the latter force fed! After I posted, I thought it sounded more like the orignal Cypriot Coffee shop - but with more comfortable chairs.
