Having read many posts about sampling real Cypriot food can I recommend a small restaurant near Bogaz which only provides 'home cooked' local dishes. First can I say I have no connection with the restaurant - I visited it yesterday with 2 Cypriot friends and we all came away more tjhan happy with the experience. It is called Goncelli and is near to the junction of the G. Magusa to Dipkarpaz road and the road which goes to Iskelle. It is by the Universal Bank. There is a different menu every day and the menus change every week. At the moment the menus are in Turkish but they are having the English translations printed. We had to start a salad with bread immendiately followed by fried heloumi and bolger kofte. This was followed by an aubergine/onions dish; followed by a greens (like a spinach) and lamb casserole; followed by rice and beans in a tomato sauce followed by raviolli filled with ricotta cheese. (To be continued)
