I suggest you contact the British Cemetery Committee. The number is on the info page (P28) of Cyprus Today.

It would be a good idea to talk to a loca lImam. surely it should be only right and proper that you are in the same cemetery, and I rather think tha tyou need to talk to a Muslim leader rather than BRS - unless of course your husband would be happy to be buried in the British cemetery. Only the British cemetery committee can answer that one. Better still, tlak to both to see what is the best thing for you both - British or Muslim final resting place. Oh, and I wonder if you would be kind enough to post your findings on here, as I am sure there are others who are curious about the answer to this.

Vonny, Christians cannot be buried in the same graveyard as a Muslim according to Islam however, there is an basis of debate that non Muslims should, if they chose, (perhaps pre-declared) be accorded an Islamic burial. In rural areas this is possible (I know from first hand experience.) It might be an idea to speak to an Imam to see what your options are for the very, very distant future.
