There was an article in last weeks Cyprus Star about this - although the heading had nothing to do with it (the proof reading must have had one two many glasses of wine that week!!) Anyway, according to the article a new market is underway in Ecevit Square, Iskele on Fridays. Does anyone know any more about it - what time is it on and can anyone give me directions to Ecevit Square please, I'd like to visit. Also, does anyone know how to go about getting a stall? Thanks.

Hi Pippie The market is open from (I think) 8am to 8pm The Square is in the centre of Iskelle. Coming from Girne take the new road to Gecikale turn left towards G. Magusa and after the village of Sinerustu you will see a small complex called Marda. (It has a sign like McDonalds) Just past there turn left to the village of Iskelle. Follow the road into the centre where there is a roundabout and the market will be opposite. I am sorry but I dont know how to get a stall but no doubt someone there will.

Been open a couple of weeks, to ask fora stall you need to go to the Belideye, it is not like a boot sale, but is hoping to be like Girne/Famagusta weekly markets.

For us poor locals who are a long way from the Peoples Republic of Girne, it is a great facility. It reminds us why we came to North Cyprus instead of following the herd to Kyrenia.
