Horselover, give Tom at Flight Holidays a call 00448718552925.He got my two Labradors across and is a font of knowledge on bringing animals from UK.If you only get the dogs to Larnaca I can recommend someone who will pick up the dogs and bring them across the border, officially ,if all paperwok in order.

We used Tom and co too recently. All sorted ok. Just need pets to have passports, rabies jab within 1 year, and blood test within 30 days of travel, and make sure your pet box is big enough! Also make sure the dog has a microchip. Can advise of a lady who escorted me to LCA to bring my animals into the South, and then coordinated the formalities, and vet inspection at the border and arranged the home quarantine for the Northside.

Dave Msg 4, Steve Msg 6 & Teresa Msg 7 - Many thanks for the votes of confidence. We do try hard and currently have two pets in progress. One about to go but are in UK kennels for about 8 days as the owner had to travel early. The other still waiting for the Rabies to be OK'd before our carriers can start to book flights etc (the clients had to move quickly and are already in their new home). Martina Msg 1 - Please feel free to contact me over Skype by email or phone - all the details are at http://www.flightholiday.co.uk

Iceman, the dog is charged as excess baggage, so roughly £10 or 10 euro per kilo which will include the box, hope this helps as we done this in June.

Musatfa Msg 13 - There is no set price. It varies on the route (where from in the UK) what is required by way of Boarding, Travelling Kennels, Inoculations, Certificates and the size of the pet (+ number in one consignment) involved

Mick, msg 14 , yes! you were flying Turkish Airlines to France where animals are allowed as escorted excess baggage at approx 10€ per kilo, plus the passenger fare. however coming this way - many airlines will only carry animals as manifest cargo which costs much more, but sometimes you just don't have a choice. Martina do contact Tom he will do all he can to help you, I am his contact in Cyprus and will help arrange your import licence and home quarantine etc. Getting your beloved pet here safely and without any problems is the most important thing.

Mustafa Msg 17 - Sorry if my guide was not what you are looking for. If you are asking about freight (manifest cargo - see Ann's msg 16) or accompanied excess baggage in both cases if you are doing it all yourself then I suggest that you ask the airline that you choose to use as any information here is only as good as when that person used a service. N.B. Both rates can be changed without notice and sometimes are charged differently depending on which direction you are travelling.

flew a 50kg rottweiller in may with monarch from birmingham to larnaca all in price including xxl crate,handling,etc,etc.....£1095,and it was a piece of cake. it cost an extra 200ish in england at the vets..... micro chipping, rabies jab, blood test, certificate to fly, flea & ticking,i think that was about it. i faxed all the vets certificates to the ministry vet in nicosia, along wih my import liscense request form, rang office in nicosia spoke to the vet & explained i could get a flight in a weeks time,he issued the import liscence via fax within the hour....result! called monarchs cargo company and booked me & the dog on the same flight. flew to larnaca, drove to customs hold, paid 65 euros tax and left with the dog. showed import liscence at metehan border and crossed into trnc. vet visited my house 2 days later, checked garden was secure & allowed me to quarantine dog at home for 2 weeks...sorted!

I only wanted to know the freight cost airlines charge by the Kg to fly dogs from UK to Cyprus or vice versa. Back in August i flew from Larnaca to Belgrade/Serbia and back with a dog and i was charged €110 each way for the dog+crate. The crate being too large to go on the scale at the check in,they estimated the total weight at 50Kg's (actually it was just over 55kg) and chared €110,which works out at €2.2 per Kg.. That's why i thought £10 per Kg was a bit high.. I know distance to UK is almost twice to it is to Serbia but the freight cost sounds like 4 times more!!
