Near East have some excellent eye surgeons. Also Dr Mustapha Guvenir in Lefkosa (almost opp. the state hospital) has a very good reputation as has Dr Deniz Atakan in Girne.

Thank you for info. Did phone Near East University Hospital and receptionist told me that they did not carry out cataract ops. Perhaps I should make appointment to see eye specialist there.

If you have any means to make a short trip to Turkey, then check out http://www.dunyagoz.com/ (Literally menas World Eye Hospital), they have many branches all over Turkey and known to be very good. I had a small eye operation with them about 6-7 years ago and was very happy with the treatment. Not very expensive either.
