Well, it is getting close to Christmas now cos I have seen Easter eggs in Woolworths. I havnt really but I know they will be there soon! So, the season of good will is just around the corner. What the heck. Let's start now. Seems appropriate after the recent word wars. Bestest ever Christmas tunes. Me go first. Slade Merry Christmas And second. Big Bing with White Christmas. Skogsy

For me it has to be Slade Merry Christmas and then Wizard I wish it could be christmas everyday. It reminds me many years ago finishing work for the Christmas holidays and going round the pubs with loads of tinsel wrapped round us and dangly christmas tree ear-rings on. Every body in the christmas spirit and all the pubs blasting out these songs. Me and my mates were a bit wild in them days but we had lots of fun!!! I am talking over 30 years ago by the way!

I still like the original Band Aid one, Do they know its Christmas. They did a new one recently which I thought was awful. Boney M - Mary's Boy Child. and put me in front of a primary 1 class singing 'Away in a Manger' and pass the tissues! Maggie

My favourite has to be, Fairy Tale in New York by the late Kirsty MacColl and the Pogues, fronted by the handsome and debonair Shane Macgowan. I accompanied Anna and sang the song last Christmas at the Malpas Hotel. Some people say I only got the part for being as ugly as Shane.(cheeky buggers) A truly great song

Paul (newlad of course) I agree - PUT CHRISTMAS BACK TO CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!! OK, that said The Pogues and the late, brilliant Kirsty McColl rates a top 2 for me along with Greg Lake and I Believe in Father Christmas. In both songs all the sentiments of the christmas thing are brought to the fore in brilliant fashion.

My favourite is "Merry Christmas (War Is Over)" By John Lennon.. So this is Christmas And what have you done Another year over And a new one just begun And so this is Christmas I hope you have fun The near and the dear ones The old and the young A very merry Christmas And a happy New Year Let's hope it's a good one Without any fear And so this is Christmas War is over For weak and for strong If you want it For rich and the poor ones War is over The world is so wrong Now And so Happy Christmas War is over For black and for white If you want it For yellow and red ones War is over Let's stop all the fight Now Repeat Verse 2 Repeat Verse 3 A very merry Christmas And a happy New Year Let's hope it's a good one Without any fear War is over if you want it War is over now

message 26 "The Little Boy that Santa Claus Forgot". Our father used to sing that to us and we all cried every time. I don't know why he did it. My favourites are very traditional: Celine Dion singing "O Holy Night" Also "Silent Night" and "O Come all ye Faithful", which I learned to sing in Latin.
