I have recently had an offer for my property in NC. What taxes etc will I be liable for? As I am presently in UK, do I have to come to NC to do the legal bits or can I obtain power of attorney for e sale?

Dashak, the best advice i can give you is to go to the tax office and ask, as not even the lawyers are kept upto speed with the changes....and certainly dont listen to anyone else on here as there are sooo many barrack room lawyers that think they know it all and dont...they think they are in the UK still. Go and hear it from the horses mouth.
