Pelican in bahceli bay

I Went with my wife for a stroll down to the beach on our return we noticed a large white object floating approx 100 mtrs out to sea

I went back to the rocks to see what it was and on closer inspection it was a large white Pelican drifting towards Esentepe marina ?

possibly blown off coarse and too weak to fly from lack of food.

A couple of years back a huge flock of pelicans flew over the mountains, I recall Cyprus Today had a photograph of them on their front page, so maybe it's not too far off course.

Hope it gets its strength back.

Saw a pelican at Esentepe Halk Plaj yesterday... photos on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kuskor/photos/album/1541425398/pic/list

It looked to be flying and fishing. May be the same one now rested.

Reports of a huge flock at Alagadi yesterday yet to be verified.

They are not allowed to shoot within 500 metres of natural water. If you do spot some hunters contravening this regulation phone 140 and report it.
