Well after all our doubts about blood test and x ray results marrying up with paperwork in Lefkosa all I can say is: They did! So by 9:30am, after having arrived at 6:30, and being second name on the list, we were completed. Yey! Wonder if the same system will be in place next year?

We got 2 years last year when I was 59 and my friend also got 2 years and she's a year younger. I think it depends who you see on the day and also if you're retired.

Yes we also got ours this morning, and our blood tests married up, surprisingly. We tried arriving a bit later this morning ( 08.00 hrs ) but it did,nt really matter, we left around 11.00, so leave yourselves 2 to 3 hours. Also be aware that there are two different tickets given out, Turkish & Turkish Cypriots get no, s 1 to 30, all other foreigners 501 to 530, both sets of numbers come up on the same screen, and roll down till they disappear. A problem this morning was that couples took individual tickets ( as they should ), but went in together, and the counting was soon lost, so that invited the usual queue jumpers in place of.

Looking back on this morning there were 14 Brits. 6 couples and 2 men on their own. As was stated about the giving of number is correct. One counter for the British and 3 for the rest ! But their did not seem to be any problems with regards jumping of places for the 14 Brits all seemed to go well in an orderly way. 6 couples went in 2 at a time and the 2 gents on their own. Although 1 chap to the back seemed to do nothing but complain Oh well...We saw no problems at all ! EASY... Spider,X

Harking back to the bad old days in that apartment block at the bus station, the current situation in Lefkosa is good (thanks to Mike Maternaghan) but the problem is the mess re the blood tests, TB tests, Girne police, discrimination of under 60's, etc. Next year what will the situation be?

Agree newscoop, as I said in my original residency thread the whole performance at Girne could be made much less frustrating.

Not ashamed I have no problem with age, although you seem to. As I was born in March 1954 by my reckoning I will not be 60 next March, but in 2014. Have you thought that the age part of the members info could be automatically updated each year? Seems you made the same mistake with spider. How sad are you to sit and read member profiles to try to score cheap points?

The immigration building. From Girne straight over the monument roundabout and past the hospital in Lefkosa keep straight on through several sets of lights. Turn left at the traffic lights, where there is a car showroom on the left hand side, I think it's a Mercedes dealership. Take first right, follow the road round and the big white building in front of you is the one you want.

It's the one straight in front of you behind the rough ground car park, it's about 4 storeys high. Basically where the road ends. Sorry don't know it's name. Park on the rough ground and walk over to it.
